Wolff Wilhelm |
Il miliardo slesiano |
The Silesian Billion and Other Writings |
Wilhelm Wolff was the son of Silesian peasants subject to serfdom, a rebellious spirit burning with hatred against all oppressors, and a political agitator in Prussia. Since 1846 he was actively involved in Marx and Engels’s party. He was the masterly interpreter of their revolutionary strategy regarding the agrarian question and the role of the peasants in the revolutionary struggles of the 1848 revolution. To him Marx dedicated the first book of Capital. The writings included in this book, as yet unpublished in Italian, clearly show his ability to combine science and revolutionary passion. |
